A Simple Turkish Breakfast

I have had a bit of an obsession with Turkey recently. I think it began with a television show we watched called “The Protector.” Now I can’t stop thinking about the country. I hope to visit within the next 5 years!

I recently found out that it’s one of the most popular tourist destinations, which, for some reason, I had not considered. It makes sense, though, with a location close to Europe, Asia, and North Africa.

Although I haven’t quite figured out when we’ll visit Turkey, an easy way to bring the energy of Turkey to my home is through food. (Have you heard of Remote Activation in Locational Astrology? It’s fascinating, and I can tell you all about it. But that’s not what this post is about.)

The weather is starting to warm up a bit here, which means it’s almost time to start eating one of my favorite breakfasts: an 8-minute egg, some mini veggies, avocado, and maybe some toast. Most days, I don’t eat until lunch but I’m always happier when I have this breakfast. It feels nourishing, tastes delicious, and starts my day off right.

To bring a little Turkey to California, I will put a Turkish twist on this breakfast by adding some feta (assuming I can’t find Turkish Beyaz peynir), pita, and za’atar.

I’m a pretty die-hard espresso drinker, but I’ve ordered Turkish Black Tea and a Turkish coffee set (grounds and the cooking pot) so I can make the experience more authentic.

Would you give this breakfast a try? What country’s energy would you like to inhabit in the mornings?
