Your Career is Fine, But Are You Happy?
Why Success on Paper Doesn’t Always Feel Like Success in Real Life
The Career Success Illusion: When a "Good" Job Feels Wrong
You followed the plan.
You climbed the ladder.
You did everything you were supposed to do.
So why does your job feel… empty?
At some point, success became a checklist—title, salary, stability, recognition.
False promises check: External achievements don’t always equal fulfillment.
You're not a failure if your career looks good but feels wrong. You’re outgrowing an old version of yourself. We aren’t meant to be the same person with the same desires throughout life!

📌 The Midheaven (10th House) is the billboard of your career—the title, the prestige, the LinkedIn glow-up. The 2nd House? That’s what actually feeds your soul and pays the bills in a way that feels good.
🔎 Check your chart: Does your career match your Midheaven but completely ignore your 2nd House? That’s like being served a five-star meal when you really just want pizza.
Why Your Career Feels Off (Even Though Nothing is “Wrong”)
Here’s a secret: Careers can have expiration dates.
What felt exciting at 25 might feel like a slow death march at 40. And it’s not because you’re lazy or entitled—people evolve. I know, shocking! Society glorifies stability so much that questioning your career feels like a crime.
🚨 Spoiler: It’s not.
If you’re GenX like me, this may be a challenging concept to grasp. Our parents likely had the same job or career throughout their lives. That was the norm. We see younger generations changing course frequently, and it feels wrong like they’re not doing it right. We need to consider that perhaps they’re on to something.
It’s not necessarily about hating your job. Sometimes, it’s about realizing that what once fit doesn’t anymore.
🔹 You’re not the person you were when you chose this path.
🔹 Your values and priorities have likely shifted.
🔹 Society teaches us that stability = success, making it hard to admit when we want more.
I’m not saying that having stability is insignificant or something to throw away—it’s crucial for my comfort. It’s too easy to get stuck, though, when success—by YOUR definition—may look very different from where you are now.

📌 Saturn is like that brutally honest friend who tells you the truth whether you want to hear it or not. Around ages 29, 36, 42, and 50, Saturn shows up to ask: Is this still working for you?
🔎 Check your transits: If Saturn is messing with your 10th House, Midheaven, or personal planets, it’s time to rethink your career script.
3 Red Flags That Your Job is Slowly Draining You
Not sure if it’s time for a change? Check for these hints:
🚩 1. You’re Successful… But You Feel Numb About It
You got the promotion. The raise. The stability. And yet, you feel nothing. Or you feel way too much, and not in a good way. That’s a sign you’ve outgrown what once excited you. You wake up uninspired. You’re checking boxes, not chasing dreams.
🚩 2. Even the “Good” Days Exhaust You
It’s one thing to be overworked. It’s another to feel drained even when things are smooth. That’s your body waving a white flag. Is your job out of sync with your natural energy flow?
🚩 3. You Daydream About Other Careers But Feel “Guilty” for Wanting More
If your brain keeps wandering to What if I did something else?—you’re not crazy, and you’re not being ungrateful. You’re just ready for something different. Is guilt or fear keeping you stuck?

How to Start Pivoting (Without Burning It All Down)
You don’t have to quit tomorrow and move to a goat farm (unless you really want to). Change happens in small, deliberate steps.
🛠 Start here:
✅ Write a “What’s Working vs. What’s Sucking” list for your career. (Sorry, Mom. I know you dislike that word.)
✅ Look at your Midheaven, Saturn cycles, and North Node for clues.
✅ Give yourself permission to explore new ideas—without pressure to act right now.
